About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Successfully complete and maintain required position competencies.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic nursing practices.
• Proficiency in the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care.
• Ability to manage patient care across the continuum of healthcare services.
• Basic electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation and related skills.
• Ability to administer treatments and medications and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Ability to operate relevant medical and clinical equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, management, patients, and the general public.
• Ability to provide patient and family education and accurately document patient care activities.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to follow established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to interpret graphs and enter information into computer systems.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and scheduled instructions.
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently within established guidelines.
• Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care in accordance with established nursing standards and scope of practice.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient care.
• Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance when situations require.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications.
• Interpret diagnostic test results and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Educate patients, families, and significant others regarding healthcare needs and treatment plans.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient care activities accurately.
• Supervise unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
• Maintain compliance with nursing guidelines, policies, and established procedures.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural sensitivity in delivering patient care.
• Support organizational standards, policies, and mission.
