About The Position

Requirements

• GED or high school equivalency diploma.
• For the LPN role: an active Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
• For the Medical Assistant role: completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program, or two years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within the last five years.
• For the Medical Assistant role: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 45 days, unless the department leader determines it is not required.
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above the shoulders, and twist throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and support 35 pounds; push or pull with 30 pounds of force; and perform a 150-pound sliding transfer with a second person present.
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, including fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures or functions.
• Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines and respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.
• Ability to perform physical safety interventions, including patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• Ability to work with protective clothing and equipment as needed when exposed to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, or communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing and other lab-related tasks.
• Accurately document care in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver coordinated care.
• Follow applicable regulations and guidelines to support patient safety and confidentiality.
