About The Position
Position supervises the activities of inmates in the preparation and serving of meals for the population and staff. Trains inmates in all kitchen policies and procedures. Maintains a high standard of food safety, sanitation and quality in a cost-efficient manner.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and supervise the work of others effectively
- Must possess knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and cost-efficient practices
- Ability to train and direct inmates in kitchen operations while maintaining compliance with established guidelines
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook
Nice To Haves
- Experience in institutional or correctional food service operations
- knowledge of inventory control, cost management, and menu planning
- Certifications in food safety or sanitation, such as ServSafe
- Strong organizational skills
