About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
• Must pass written, oral, and practical assessments.
• Reliable transportation to and from work locations.
• Advanced experience repairing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
• Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
• Ability to deploy for extended periods to various OCONUS/CONUS operating locations and meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
• Must successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
• Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
• Valid passport and ability to obtain a visa for international travel.
• Willingness to deploy OCONUS/CONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, stand and walk for extended periods, and use hand and finger dexterity to work with small components and tools.
• Ability to work in noisy environments with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
• Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice, and to drive or operate a vehicle for travel.
• Ability to climb ladders, crawl in confined spaces, and work at heights.
• Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens; follow detailed instructions; and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to hear spoken communication and auditory signals from machinery in noisy environments.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance or a related field.
• Leadership and management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of specific aircraft models.
• FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
• Ability to travel regularly and/or work different shifts, including overtime and weekends.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. Military.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance teams and projects.
• Oversee major overhauls and inspections.
• Ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards.
• Conduct training and development sessions for junior mechanics.
• Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations.
• Develop and implement maintenance protocols.
• Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of all maintenance activities.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.
• Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards and follow safety protocols.
