About The Position

The Independent Living Program (ILP) helps youth and young adults who are or were in foster care gain the knowledge, skills, and ability to become self-sufficient adults. It gives young people the opportunity to learn the skills needed to transition successfully from state or tribal custody to living independently. The Independent Living Coordinator (ILC) provides support with educational and employment skills, health education and access, life skills, healthy and supportive relationships, transportation, and housing needs.

Requirements

• Applicant must be 23 years old or older.
• Three years of relevant experience, education, or a combination of both.
• Must reside in or around the Portland Metro Area.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver license, acceptable driving record, and full coverage auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Support youth and young adults in developing educational and employment skills.
• Support health education and access, life skills, healthy and supportive relationships, transportation, and housing needs.
• Help youth build the knowledge, skills, and ability to transition from state or tribal custody to independent living.
