About The Position

This is a hybrid course for the Fall 2026 semester, focusing on the development of effective, appropriate, and accurate academic writing skills. The course utilizes models and domain-specific text genres, with consideration for subject, audience, and purpose. It includes individualized feedback and a reflective portfolio. The course is scheduled for Mondays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The language of instruction is English.

Requirements

Master’s degree in teaching English as a second language, or a discipline relevant to English as a second language teaching.
Two years of experience teaching ESL at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with software and technologies relevant to teaching English as a second language.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

A professor who has taught an FLS / ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018 is considered to meet the diploma requirement.

Responsibilities
