About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Academic Unit of Public and International Affairs, is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the course EVD5114A: Professional Skills for Environmental Sustainability during the 2026 Fall Semester. This course focuses on developing oral and written communication skills, including presenting to parliamentary committees, preparing memos to cabinet, writing editorials, conducting media interviews, and producing interdisciplinary public policy reports. It also covers project and process management skills, including multi-stakeholder processes. The course is designed for students with diverse backgrounds, ranging from economics and political science to natural/physical sciences and engineering. The course will be offered in person on campus.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree with considerable work experience in a senior managerial role in the private or public sector in areas related to environmental sustainability.
  • Practical experience with project management; networking and negotiation; communication strategies and tactics; public consultation; and social media marketing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students from a range of background knowledge bases, from economics, and political science through the natural/physical sciences and engineering.

  • Previous experience teaching professional skills or professional development courses to students of diverse backgrounds is considered an asset.
