About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Drugs and Behaviour (PSY3142, Section A00) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course covers behavioural pharmacology, psychotropic drugs, drug classes, therapeutic indications, abuse potential, societal impact of drugs, and current research in the field. The course component is a lecture, with an expected enrollment of 120 students. The instruction language is English, with passive competence in a second language required. The course is offered in person with a schedule of Mondays from 14:30-16:00 and Thursdays from 16:00-17:30.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology with a thesis in Neuroscience.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
  • Ability to maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities
