About The Position

This course focuses on intensive practice in academic essay writing, with an emphasis on grammatical accuracy, well-reasoned exposition, essay organization, research paper preparation, and proper source acknowledgment. Students will engage in frequent written exercises to develop their composition skills. The use of Writing Centre resources is required outside of regular class hours. This is an ONLINE COURSE with a schedule subject to change.

Requirements

• Ph.D (English)
• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach ENG1100 MB00: Workshop in Essay Writing
• Provide intensive practice in academic essay writing
• Emphasize grammatical and well-reasoned expository writing
• Focus on essay organization and preparation of research papers
• Instruct on proper acknowledgment of sources
• Assign frequent written exercises and develop composition skills
• Require the use of Writing Centre resources outside regular class hours
