About The Position

This course focuses on intensive practice in academic essay writing. Key areas of emphasis include developing grammatically correct and well-reasoned expository writing, mastering essay organization, preparing research papers, and correctly acknowledging sources. Students will engage in frequent written exercises to enhance their composition skills. The use of Writing Centre resources is a mandatory component outside of regular class hours.

Requirements

• Ph.D (English)
• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
• Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities

• Teach ENG1100 MS00: Workshop in Essay Writing
• Provide intensive practice in academic essay writing
• Emphasize grammatical and well-reasoned expository writing
• Focus on essay organization
• Guide students in the preparation of research papers
• Instruct on proper acknowledgment of sources
• Assign frequent written exercises
• Develop students' composition skills
• Require the use of Writing Centre resources outside regular class hours
