About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach ENG1100 MN00, Workshop in Essay Writing, during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course focuses on intensive practice in academic essay writing, emphasizing grammatical and well-reasoned expository writing, essay organization, preparation of research papers, and proper acknowledgment of sources. Students will complete frequent written exercises and develop composition skills. Use of Writing Centre resources is required outside of regular class hours. The expected enrollment is 45 students, and the course is worth 3 credits.

Requirements

Ph.D (English)
Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

Teach ENG1100 MN00, Workshop in Essay Writing.
Provide intensive practice in academic essay writing.
Emphasize grammatical and well-reasoned expository writing.
Focus on essay organization, preparation of research papers, and proper acknowledgment of sources.
Assign and evaluate frequent written exercises.
Facilitate the development of composition skills.
Ensure students utilize Writing Centre resources outside of regular class hours.
