Workplace & Event Operations Manager

Siro•New York, NY
•$145,000 - $165,000•Onsite

About The Position

Siro is hiring one person to own the operations behind its NYC workplace, team experiences, and conferences. The role runs the New York City office end to end, plans events that bring the team together, and serves as the operational right hand to the Director of Events for conferences and trade shows. This is an ownership role—not a coordinator role—with responsibility for budgets, vendors, outcomes, independent decision-making, and appropriate escalation. The Workplace & Event Operations Manager oversees the office’s visitor experience, facilities, space planning, supplies, food, atmosphere, vendors, budget, and operating systems. The role also plans and executes monthly socials, happy hours, holiday and seasonal events, milestone celebrations, company offsites, and new-hire welcome moments, including tracking expenses against event budgets and reconciling with finance. For conferences, the role manages booth construction and shipping, freight and materials, swag and collateral, travel and hotel logistics, show staffing, and vendor coordination. The position is based in NYC and requires working in the office four to five days per week.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in workplace or office management, event operations, or hospitality.
  • Hands-on experience with conference logistics, including booth shipping, exhibitor services, room blocks, and on-site execution.
  • A track record of owning budgets and vendor relationships end to end.
  • Experience running a large-scale project such as an office buildout, office move, or company offsite.
  • Warm, polished communication with executives, vendors, guests, and teammates.
  • Comfort with AI tools and a habit of automating repeatable work.
  • Based in NYC and able to work in the office 4–5 days per week.
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple vendors, timelines, and budgets.
  • Negotiation experience with hotel blocks, food and beverage minimums, venue buyouts, and vendor contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-growth startup.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end experience for customers, candidates, and investors visiting the NYC office, including welcome, meeting rooms, and food.
  • Manage office facilities, including HVAC, cleaning, maintenance, security, building management, and health and safety compliance; resolve issues and follow up with the building.
  • Manage seating plans, furniture, workstation installations, conference rooms, A/V, and space planning as the team grows.
  • Manage office snacks, drinks, kitchen needs, and supplies within budget.
  • Maintain office decor, plants, seasonal and holiday decorations, and other details that contribute to the workplace atmosphere.
  • Own the office budget and office vendor contracts, including renegotiating contracts.
  • Create and maintain an office calendar, standard operating procedures, and self-service guides.
  • Plan and execute monthly socials and happy hours, holiday parties, seasonal events, and milestone celebrations.
  • Coordinate company offsites, including venue sourcing, group air and hotel blocks, food and beverage minimums, and run of show.
  • Plan new-hire welcome moments.
  • Track social and offsite expenses against budgets and reconcile them with finance.
  • Manage conference and trade show booth builds, freight, material handling, swag, collateral, and shipping logistics.
  • Coordinate conference travel, hotel room blocks, and staffing logistics for the Siro team.
  • Source and negotiate with conference vendors such as venues, caterers, A/V providers, printers, exhibitor services, and contractors.
  • Use independent judgment to manage budgets, vendors, plans, and outcomes, escalating matters when a second opinion is needed.
