About The Position

Dietrich Construction is a self-performing general contractor serving the Fargo, North Dakota / Moorhead, Minnesota area. The company is seeking a skilled, reliable, and leadership-minded Working Foreman to manage construction projects on site while performing hands-on carpentry. The role is approximately 70% carpentry and 30% jobsite management, including coordinating project timelines, material orders, and apprentices. The Working Foreman connects project managers, subcontractors, and clients to help ensure safe, timely work that meets the company's quality standards.

Requirements

5–7 years of professional carpentry experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Mastery of residential and commercial framing, finish carpentry, and common power tools.
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and build accurately from them.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
Strong problem-solving and English communication skills.
Basic digital literacy skills for logging daily reports.

Responsibilities

Perform framing, exterior trim, window and door installations, and intricate interior finish work.
Supervise daily jobsite operations, manage junior carpenters and apprentices, and enforce safety protocols.
Schedule, guide, and oversee the quality of subcontractors and other trade partners on site.
Read architectural blueprints, perform material take-offs, and track material orders.
Serve as the primary on-site client contact, provide professional updates, and answer questions.
Maintain clean, organized jobsites and ensure work meets building codes and design specifications.
