About The Position

The Shipping Working Foreman works in a fast-paced dispatch environment preparing products for shipment and overseeing general shipping activities. The role leads shipping staff, maintains the shipping department, coordinates loading and unloading, and helps ensure orders are completed and shipped in a timely manner. It also involves physically staging bread and bun products and materials, processing incoming shipments, preparing pallets, operating shipping equipment, tracking goods using computer systems, and creating shipping labels and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general shipping activities.
• Lead shipping staff and maintain the shipping department.
• Load and unload trucks and semi-trailers.
• Move bread and bun stacks to the shipping dock using a two-wheel cart and stage products.
• Break down product stacks using repetitive upper-extremity movements for shipment to depot locations.
• Shuttle bread trays and materials to the staging area.
• Route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to resolve damages and shortages.
• Load cased bread and bun products onto pallets.
• Operate an electric pallet jack to move or hoist materials from packaging to the shipping dock.
• Operate a stretch-wrap bander to palletize products for shipment.
• Perform computer functions necessary to track goods.
• Create shipping labels and handle shipping information.
• Work with the shipping team to complete orders in a timely manner.
