About The Position

The Shipping Working Foreman works in a fast-paced shipping environment preparing items for shipment. The role oversees general shipping activities, leads and works with shipping staff, and maintains the shipping department. It involves physically moving and staging bread and bun products and materials, loading and unloading trucks, processing incoming shipments, preparing pallets, operating shipping equipment, and using computer systems to track goods and manage shipping information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general shipping activities.
• Lead shipping staff and work with the shipping team to complete orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain the shipping department.
• Load and unload trucks and semi-trailers.
• Move bread and bun stacks to the shipping dock using a two-wheel cart and stage products.
• Break down product stacks for shipment to depot locations.
• Shuttle bread trays and materials to the staging area.
• Route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Load cased bread and bun products onto pallets.
• Operate an electric pallet jack to move or hoist materials from packaging to the shipping dock.
• Operate a stretch-wrap bander to palletize products for shipment.
• Perform computer functions necessary to track goods.
• Create shipping labels and handle shipping information.
• Work efficiently within a busy dispatch department.
