About The Position

The Workday Training & Organizational Change Manager serves as the university's functional lead for Workday education, organizational change management, user adoption, business process documentation, and enterprise communications related to Workday and associated administrative systems. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive training and change management strategy that supports the successful adoption of Workday across all functional areas of the university. The incumbent partners with functional offices, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, LSU System Workday teams, and executive leadership to ensure faculty, staff, and students effectively utilize Workday technologies and institutional business processes. The Workday Training & Organizational Change Manager develops instructional content, coordinates enterprise-wide training initiatives, maintains institutional knowledge resources, facilitates organizational readiness activities, develops communication strategies for system enhancements, and supports continuous improvement efforts associated with Workday implementations and business process modernization. This position serves as the university's primary resource for developing educational programs, promoting technology adoption, measuring organizational readiness, supporting change initiatives, and ensuring consistent communication of Workday functionality, business processes, policies, and procedural changes. The incumbent will lead campus readiness initiatives associated with Workday biannual releases, new module implementations, LSU Enterprise Workday migration activities, and institutional digital transformation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, Communications, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience developing and delivering organizational training programs.
  • Experience developing instructor-led, online, and blended learning environments.
  • Experience designing instructional materials utilizing adult learning principles.
  • Experience managing organizational training initiatives and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience creating professional documentation, presentations, and multimedia educational content.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Higher Education Administration, Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting Workday or another enterprise SaaS ERP platform.
  • Experience designing training programs within higher education.
  • Experience supporting organizational change initiatives using recognized change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci ADKAR or similar).
  • Experience administering learning management systems and eLearning platforms.
  • Experience developing video-based learning, webinars, and interactive online training modules.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional systems design (ADDIE), and learning.
  • Experience creating knowledge management programs and institutional documentation.

  • Workday Pro certification, Prosci Change Management certification, or equivalent professional credentials.
  • Experience facilitating executive training, leadership workshops, and cross-functional organizational development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the university's comprehensive Workday training and organizational change management strategy.
  • Partner with executive leadership, functional offices, and Information Technology to identify organizational training needs and develop long-term learning initiatives supporting Workday and enterprise business systems.
  • Develop organizational readiness plans for new Workday functionality, system implementations, and business process improvements.
  • Conduct organizational impact assessments for major Workday enhancements and institutional initiatives.
  • Develop strategies that encourage user adoption while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Coordinate LSU New Orleans campus-wide change management activities associated with Workday releases and LSU Enterprise initiatives.
  • Promote continuous learning and technology adoption throughout the university.
  • Design, develop, and maintain instructor-led, virtual, hybrid, and self-paced training programs supporting Workday and enterprise administrative systems.
  • Develop learning paths for faculty, staff, supervisors, student employees, department administrators, and executive leadership.
  • Create instructional materials including: Job Aids, Standard Operating Procedures, Quick Reference Guides, User Manuals, Video Tutorials, Interactive eLearning Modules, Frequently Asked Questions, and Knowledge Base Articles.
  • Develop role-based training curricula aligned with institutional business processes.
  • Maintain course content to reflect Workday enhancements, policy changes, and LSU System standards.
  • Evaluate instructional effectiveness and continuously improve educational materials.
  • Develop communication strategies supporting Workday initiatives, including: Biannual Workday releases, System enhancements, Business process changes, Scheduled maintenance, New functionality, Policy updates, and Training opportunities.
  • Prepare executive communications, newsletters, announcements, training calendars, and release documentation.
  • Coordinate communications between Information Technology, functional departments, and campus stakeholders.
  • Promote awareness of new Workday capabilities and institutional technology initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain the university's centralized Workday knowledge management repository.
  • Maintain institutional documentation including: Business Process Documentation, Knowledge Articles, SOPs, Process Maps, Functional Guides, Department Playbooks, and Troubleshooting Documentation.
  • Ensure documentation remains current with Workday releases and institutional policy changes.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to document new business processes and operational improvements.
  • Measure organizational readiness and user adoption through surveys, analytics, Help Desk trends, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Analyze training effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve user experience.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to identify recurring support issues that may be resolved through improved training or documentation.
  • Develop recommendations to improve customer satisfaction and reduce support requests.
  • Support departments during organizational transitions involving new Workday functionality.
  • Administer learning platforms supporting Workday education initiatives.
  • Coordinate online training registrations, attendance tracking, completion reporting, and learning analytics.
  • Evaluate new learning technologies and instructional tools that improve employee education.
  • Maintain training schedules and certification records.
  • Collaborate with Workday Business Analysts, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, and LSU System partners to ensure training aligns with institutional priorities.
  • Participate in Workday governance committees and implementation projects.
  • Support institutional strategic planning initiatives involving digital transformation and business process modernization.
  • Serve as the university's primary advisor regarding Workday learning strategies, organizational readiness, and user adoption.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
