About The Position

The Wine and Spirits Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, educates customers about products, and rotates, faces, and replenishes merchandise while ensuring quality standards are met. The position requires adherence to applicable local, state, and company policies for tobacco and liquor sales, department and company guidelines, and proper sanitation and personal hygiene practices. The role works with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Over six months and up to one year of similar or related work experience.
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions and deal with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record information.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, treating customers with care, concern, and patience.
Greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and assist them with locating, reaching, loading, or unloading products; convey customer suggestions and requests.
Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
Work with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Educate customers about products.
Rotate, face, and replenish merchandise and maintain quality standards.
Check in and put away products and may review invoices.
Maintain displays in the department and throughout the store.
Follow local, state, and company policies regarding tobacco and liquor sales.
Remove trash promptly and follow sanitation procedures to keep the work area clean and neat.
Follow department and company personal hygiene, dress, and other policies and guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
Order products at a supervisor’s request, assist with inventory, and build displays as needed.
Assist in other store areas and perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
