About The Position

JELD-WEN is hiring a Window and Door Field Service Technician for its Commercial Group. The applicant must reside in Charleston, SC, or Columbia, SC. The role involves inspecting and servicing JELD-WEN window and door products, determining the root causes of service issues, documenting service work, and providing professional customer support. The technician is expected to become familiar with the products in their coverage region and to follow company policies and safety procedures. The position requires 75% travel, including overnight travel, and overtime. Working hours are flexible. The technician will maintain and safely operate tools and a company service vehicle. Physical tasks include lifting 50–75 pounds, climbing, and working with a ladder, scaffolding, or other devices. Expected pay is $21.15 to $31.73 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Previous experience with window and door products.
Previous experience in construction or a similar environment.
Carpentry skills and ability to use tools and measuring devices.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds, climb, and perform tasks on a ladder, scaffolding, or other devices.
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Dependability, self-motivation, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to travel 75%, including overnight stays, and work overtime.
Availability for flexible working hours.
Residence in Charleston, SC, or Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities

Apply knowledge of window and door installation and repair practices.
Perform service work on various products and accurately inspect JELD-WEN window and door products to determine the root cause of service issues.
Identify and report recurring issues, including product defects.
Provide complete reports from service jobs.
Maintain tools and the service vehicle in proper and safe working order.
Operate the company service vehicle safely and considerately.
Become familiar with all JELD-WEN products in the coverage region.
Follow JELD-WEN policies and procedures while working safely and professionally.
