About The Position

The Wheelchair Agent assists and transports airline passengers who require assistance, including wheelchair assistance at the airport. The role involves providing safe, attentive passenger support and maintaining professional relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities. The agent is responsible for following workplace health and safety procedures and taking reasonable care of their own and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing. Menzies Aviation prohibits alcohol and drug misuse and conducts regular testing to enforce its Substance Misuse Policy.

Requirements

Ability to work various shifts.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong verbal and communication skills.
Ability to hear and respond to spoken voices and audible alarms in the terminal environment.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to obtain an airport badge.
Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates.
Safely transport passengers in occupied wheelchairs down the jet bridge.
Ensure wheelchair brakes are in place before allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair.
Complete necessary wheelchair or incident reports.
Follow dispatcher gate orders.
Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and attend to each passenger’s individual needs, questions, problems, or concerns.
Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities.
Exceed customer service standards.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing, following provided information, training, and workplace safety rules or procedures.
