About The Position

The Manager in Training works alongside the Store Manager to learn how to operate a salon and prepare for the Store Manager role. The position involves learning to lead and coach salon employees, manage staffing and performance, control expenses, provide excellent customer service, maintain salon standards, support local promotions, and securely handle salon transactions and customer card data. The role offers hands-on training, commission-based pay, and opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

1–3 years of retail, customer service, operations, or management experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to motivate others.
Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for 7 or more hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds.
Availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
Occasional local travel may be needed for meetings, training, or supporting other salon locations.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Store Manager to learn how to run a salon.
Learn to lead and coach Wellness Consultants and the Salon Support team.
Learn to recruit, schedule, and develop employees.
Set goals, track performance, and follow up on training.
Manage labor, cost of sales, and other controllable expenses.
Provide customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
Keep the salon clean, stocked, and running smoothly, and ensure it meets health department standards.
Help plan and carry out local promotions to grow store sales.
Handle salon cash, deposits, and customer card data securely, including PCI security training.
