Wellness Salon Manager in Training
About The Position
The Wellness Salon Manager in Training works side by side with a Store Manager to learn how to lead and operate a successful salon. The role includes hands-on training in team leadership, sales and goal management, scheduling and staff development, expense control, customer service, salon operations, local promotions, and secure handling of cash, deposits, and customer card data. The position offers a path toward a Store Manager role, with performance-based commission and opportunities for advancement. The salons are open seven days a week. Schedules are designed with flexibility in mind, though the role requires some nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional local travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations. This is a security-sensitive position. Requirements
- 1–3 years of retail, customer service, operations, or management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand for 7 or more hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel locally occasionally for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Store Manager to learn how to operate a salon.
- Learn to lead and coach Wellness Consultants and the Salon Support team.
- Learn to recruit, schedule, and develop employees.
- Learn to set goals, track performance, and follow up on training.
- Learn to manage labor, cost of sales, and other controllable expenses.
- Provide customer service and learn to resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Keep the salon clean, stocked, and operating smoothly while ensuring it meets health department standards.
- Help plan and carry out local promotions to grow store sales.
- Learn to handle salon cash, deposits, and customer card data securely, including through PCI security training.
