Wellness Salon Manager in Training
About The Position
Join a leader in the tanning and wellness industry as a Manager in Training. Work alongside the Store Manager and learn the role from the inside, including coaching a high-energy team, meeting goals, and operating a successful salon. The position offers hands-on training, commission opportunities, and career advancement in a welcoming, team-oriented environment. Managers in Training earn an average of $10.50–$15.00 or more per hour, including base pay and up to 12% commission. Store Managers can earn $19.00–$23.00 or more per hour, including base pay, up to 12% commission, and a monthly bonus. Top performers may earn more. The salons are open seven days a week. Schedules are designed with flexibility, but the role includes some nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional local travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations. This is a security-sensitive position.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of retail, customer service, operations, or management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to be on your feet for 7 or more hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel locally occasionally for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Store Manager to learn how to operate a salon.
- Learn to lead and coach Wellness Consultants and the Salon Support team.
- Learn to recruit, schedule, and develop employees.
- Learn to set goals, track performance, and follow up on training.
- Learn to manage labor, cost of sales, and other controllable expenses.
- Provide customer service that encourages clients to return and learn to resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Keep the salon clean, stocked, and operating smoothly, and ensure it meets health department standards.
- Help plan and carry out local promotions to grow store sales.
- Learn to handle salon cash, deposits, and customer card data securely, including PCI security training.
