Wellness Salon Manager in Training
About The Position
The Wellness Salon Manager in Training works alongside the Store Manager to learn how to lead a team and operate a successful tanning and wellness salon. The role includes hands-on training in team leadership, sales and performance management, staffing, expenses, customer service, salon operations, local promotions, and secure handling of cash, deposits, and customer card data. The position offers hourly base pay plus commission, with opportunities for career advancement. Salons are open seven days a week; schedules are designed with flexibility, but the role includes some nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional local travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations. This is a security-sensitive position.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in retail, customer service, operations, or management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand for 7 or more hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel locally occasionally for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Store Manager to learn how to operate the salon.
- Learn to lead and coach Wellness Consultants and the Salon Support team.
- Learn to recruit, schedule, and develop employees.
- Set goals, track performance, and follow up on training.
- Manage labor, cost of sales, and other controllable expenses.
- Provide customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
- Keep the salon clean, stocked, and operating smoothly while ensuring it meets health department standards.
- Help plan and carry out local promotions to grow store sales.
- Handle salon cash, deposits, and customer card data securely, including completing PCI security training.
