Wellness Salon Manager in Training
About The Position
The Wellness Salon Manager in Training works alongside the Store Manager to learn how to operate a successful salon and prepare for the Store Manager role. The position involves learning to lead and coach staff, meet sales and performance goals, manage expenses and staffing, maintain salon standards, provide excellent customer service, support local promotions, and handle cash and customer card data securely. The role offers hands-on training, commission opportunities, and career advancement. Salons are open seven days a week; schedules are flexible, but some nights, weekends, and holidays are expected. Occasional local travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of retail, customer service, operations, or management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to be on your feet for 7 or more hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Store Manager to learn how to run the salon.
- Learn to lead and coach Wellness Consultants and the Salon Support team.
- Learn to recruit, schedule, and develop staff.
- Learn to set goals, track performance, and follow up on training.
- Learn to manage labor, cost of sales, and other controllable expenses.
- Provide customer service and learn to resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Keep the salon clean, stocked, and running smoothly, and ensure it meets health department standards.
- Help plan and carry out local promotions to grow store sales.
- Learn to handle salon cash, deposits, and customer card data securely, including PCI security training.
