About The Position

The Jorgensen Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Wellness Center Assistant to create a welcoming atmosphere and leave a memorable impression on new and current members. The role supports members’ fitness and wellness goals by connecting with participants, helping maintain clean and safe facilities, responding to emergencies if needed, and orienting members to fitness equipment.

Requirements

• Be at least 15 years old.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.
• Be able to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Nice To Haves

• Previous fitness certification and experience with basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, along with wellness equipment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and build positive relationships with participants and program staff.
• Connect with members and provide a welcoming level of service.
• Help ensure facilities are clean and safe.
• Respond to emergency situations if needed.
• Orient members to fitness equipment to support a safe and positive environment.
