About The Position

The Wear Specialist uses computerized systems and tools to inspect customer machine undercarriages and prepare accurate repair quotes. The role works closely with Product Support Sales Representatives to grow Blanchard Machinery Company’s undercarriage business, particularly among retail and small-core customers and customers currently using aftermarket will-fit parts. The Specialist also supports sales representatives in identifying undercarriage opportunities and serves as the company’s undercarriage expert.

The position involves conducting customer equipment inspections, preparing reports and repair or maintenance recommendations, coordinating repair scheduling and parts inventory, and working at customer sites across the state. The employee works both indoors in non-climate-controlled spaces and outdoors in varying weather conditions, and may need to be physically present at designated worksites.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or a related field.
• A sense of urgency and commitment to achieving high customer satisfaction.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of heavy construction equipment, preferably in maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to drive to customer worksites and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to construction equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and business software tools.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company Driver Qualifications.
• Ability to use required personal protective equipment and perform duties involving standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and lifting.
• Ability to see, read, and write to complete job responsibilities and use computers and other technology.

Responsibilities

• Grow undercarriage sales, with a focus on retail and small-core customers and customers using aftermarket will-fit parts.
• Streamline the quoting process for undercarriage services.
• Support Product Support Sales Representatives in targeting identified unrecognized undercarriage opportunities.
• Develop expertise in undercarriage products and services for Blanchard Machinery.
• Use software tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, CAT Inspect, and CTS, to analyze data, make recommendations, and prepare customer solutions and quotes.
• Help manage and schedule equipment repairs with sales representatives.
• Conduct regular undercarriage and machine inspections of customer assets to maximize product life expectancy, reduce product failures, and lower owning and operating costs.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with recommendations and quotes for repair or maintenance work.
• Coordinate undercarriage parts inventory with management using CPRO and other parts department forecasting tools.
• Represent Blanchard Machinery Company professionally.
• Travel statewide to customer worksites.
• Work safely under varying conditions and provide reliable, precise, consistent, accurate, and timely undercarriage services.
• Contribute to the goal of growing undercarriage parts sales by 10% year over year.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
