About The Position

Five9 is seeking a Vice President of Demand Generation to build and manage the pipeline engine for the company. This leadership role will oversee global campaign strategy, account-based marketing, partner marketing, customer marketing, events, and the sales development organization responsible for converting demand into qualified conversations. The position is measured on the entire sales funnel, from initial response to qualified opportunity and forecastable pipeline. The ideal candidate will act as a general manager of demand, capable of setting global strategy, leading diverse teams, and committing to quarterly pipeline targets. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging AI across the demand generation process, including audience selection, creative production, campaign operations, sales development, and performance measurement.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of marketing experience, with at least 8 years leading demand generation in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.
  • Experience running demand across both Americas and international markets.
  • Experience leading a sales development organization, or running demand in close partnership with one where SDR performance was part of the marketing number.
  • Proven experience designing and scaling ABM programs for enterprise accounts in close partnership with Sales.
  • Partner or channel marketing experience, including co-marketing programs and MDF management.
  • Experience owning an events portfolio at scale, including at least one large owned customer or user conference.
  • Customer marketing or installed-base demand experience.
  • Expert command of funnel metrics, attribution, campaign ROI, and budget allocation.
  • Strong hands-on familiarity with the modern demand stack: CRM, marketing automation, ABM and intent platforms, sales engagement tooling, and BI reporting.
  • Hands-on proficiency with modern AI tools and a clear point of view on how they apply to demand generation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global campaign strategy, including themes, calendar, channel mix, and offer architecture.
  • Set and deliver pipeline targets by region, segment, and industry, with corresponding plans and budget allocations.
  • Develop strategies for international markets, considering regional channel mix, language, local buying behavior, and sales motions.
  • Manage the demand budget end-to-end, optimizing for programs that generate pipeline.
  • Build and execute the Account-Based Marketing (ABM) motion for strategic and named enterprise accounts.
  • Pair ABM programs with matched sales development coverage to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Utilize intent, engagement, and firmographic data to prioritize team efforts and sales focus.
  • Measure ABM success based on account progression and opportunity creation.
  • Lead inbound and outbound sales development globally, including coverage models, capacity planning, territory alignment, and quota setting.
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to define speed-to-lead and qualification standards.
  • Ensure alignment between campaign messaging and outbound sequences.
  • Develop sales development as a talent pipeline for future roles within Five9.
  • Own partner marketing across the ecosystem (resellers, distributors, SIs, technology alliances).
  • Build co-marketing programs that generate partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline.
  • Drive expansion demand into the installed base in partnership with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Marketing.
  • Build the customer advocacy and reference engine, including customer stories, references, speakers, and communities.
  • Own the global events portfolio, including company events, industry tradeshows, partner events, and executive roundtables.
  • Treat every event as a campaign with pre-show targeting, on-site engagement, and follow-up.
  • Set event calendar selection criteria with input from Sales and measure event ROI.
  • Lead a global organization across multiple teams, establishing shared cadence, forecast discipline, and reporting.
  • Hire, develop, and retain leaders, creating a desirable function for marketers and sales development professionals.
  • Partner with other Marketing teams (Product Marketing, Brand, Operations, Analytics) for cohesive campaigns and accurate measurement.
  • Represent the demand engine to the executive team, reporting on performance and planned changes.
