About The Position

Five9 is seeking a Vice President of Demand Generation to build and manage the pipeline engine for the company. This leadership role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for global campaign strategy, account-based marketing, partner marketing, customer marketing, the entire events portfolio, and the sales development organization. The position is measured by the entire funnel, from initial response to a qualified sales opportunity. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader capable of managing multiple teams and delivering on pipeline commitments. The role also involves leveraging AI across the demand generation process, including audience selection, creative production, campaign operations, sales development outreach, and performance measurement. Five9 is a leading provider of cloud contact center software, emphasizing a team-first culture, innovation, and diversity.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of marketing experience
  • At least 8 years leading demand generation in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology
  • Experience running demand across both Americas and international markets
  • Working understanding of how buying behavior, channel mix, and sales motions differ by region
  • Experience leading a sales development organization, or running demand in close partnership with one where SDR performance was part of the marketing number
  • Proven experience designing and scaling ABM programs for enterprise accounts in close partnership with Sales
  • Experience owning an events portfolio at scale, including at least one large owned customer or user conference
  • Expert command of funnel metrics, attribution, campaign ROI, and budget allocation
  • Credibility to defend numbers in front of Sales and Finance
  • Strong hands-on familiarity with the modern demand stack: CRM, marketing automation, ABM and intent platforms, sales engagement tooling, and BI reporting
  • Hands-on proficiency with modern AI tools and a clear point of view on how they apply to demand generation
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Own the global campaign strategy, including themes, calendar, channel mix, and offer architecture.
  • Set and deliver pipeline targets by region, segment, and industry, with corresponding plans and budget allocations.
  • Develop strategies for international markets, considering regional channel mix, language, local buying behavior, and sales motions.
  • Manage the demand budget end-to-end, optimizing for programs that produce pipeline.
  • Build and manage the Account-Based Marketing (ABM) motion for strategic and named enterprise accounts.
  • Pair ABM programs with matched sales development coverage for timely account engagement.
  • Apply intent, engagement, and firmographic signals to prioritize team and sales efforts.
  • Measure ABM success based on account progression and opportunity creation.
  • Lead inbound and outbound sales development globally, including coverage models, capacity planning, territory alignment, and quota setting.
  • Own speed to lead and qualification standards in collaboration with Sales leadership.
  • Ensure campaign messaging and outbound sequences are aligned.
  • Develop sales development as a talent pipeline for future roles within Five9.
  • Own partner marketing across the ecosystem (resellers, distributors, SIs, technology alliances).
  • Build co-marketing programs that generate partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline.
  • Drive expansion demand into the installed base in partnership with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Marketing.
  • Build the customer advocacy and reference engine, including customer stories, references, speakers, and communities.
  • Own the global events portfolio, including company events, industry tradeshows, partner events, executive roundtables, and regional field programs.
  • Treat every event as a campaign with pre-show targeting, on-site engagement, and follow-up.
  • Set event calendar selection criteria based on Sales input and measure event investments on pipeline and cost per opportunity.
  • Lead a global organization across multiple teams, establishing shared cadence, forecast discipline, and reporting.
  • Hire, develop, and retain leaders, creating a function attractive to marketing and sales development professionals.
  • Partner across Marketing functions (Product Marketing, Brand and Communications, Marketing Operations, Analytics) for cohesive campaigns.
  • Represent the demand engine to the executive team with clear reporting on performance and planned changes.
