About The Position

The Vitamin Clerk is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by providing prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service in the Vitamin Department. The role includes maintaining department displays, accurately pricing merchandise with stamps, markings, shelf tags, or signs, and using supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer customer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters. The clerk should be familiar with department events and seminars, share knowledge of weekly ad items, and direct customers to products throughout the store. The work takes place in a fast-paced, friendly retail environment. Team members under age 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors, operating motorized or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods. The position requires adherence to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations. Other related duties may be assigned. Sprouts management may amend duties, responsibilities, and requirements to meet business and organizational needs.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a flexible, changing schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Show mutual respect for others and maintain a high ethical standard in keeping with Sprouts' culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday; lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles in an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
Create and maintain department displays.
Accurately price merchandise by stamping, marking, or placing shelf tags and signs throughout the department.
Use supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters.
Stay familiar with events and seminars taking place or scheduled in the department.
Share knowledge of weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
