About The Position

The Vitamin Clerk works in Sprouts Farmers Market’s Vitamin Department and helps ensure customer satisfaction by providing prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service. The role involves creating and maintaining department displays, accurately pricing merchandise with stamps, markings, shelf tags, and signs, and using supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer customer questions and provide education within appropriate parameters. The clerk also stays familiar with department events and seminars, shares information about weekly-ad items, and directs customers to products throughout the store. The position requires a positive, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced retail environment. Clerks must follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations and perform other related duties as assigned. Team members under age 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors or motorized/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday, and lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for up to 3 feet, for 10–50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring force up to 35 pounds, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
Create and maintain department displays.
Accurately price merchandise by stamping, marking, or placing shelf tags and signs.
Use vitamin and supplement knowledge to answer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters.
Stay familiar with department events and seminars.
Share information about weekly-ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
