About The Position

The Vitamin/HBA Clerk supports customer satisfaction in Sprouts Farmers Market’s Vitamin Department by providing prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service. The clerk maintains department displays, accurately prices merchandise using stamps, markings, shelf tags, and signs, and uses vitamin and supplement knowledge to answer customer questions and provide education within appropriate parameters. The role also involves staying familiar with department events and seminars, sharing information about weekly ad items, and directing customers to products throughout the store. The position is in a fast-paced, friendly retail environment. Team members under age 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors, operating motor- or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods. Duties may be amended to meet business and organizational needs.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday; lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, over a distance of up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring force of up to 35 pounds, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
Create and maintain department displays.
Accurately price merchandise by stamping or marking items and placing shelf tags and signs.
Use vitamin and supplement knowledge to answer customer questions and educate within appropriate parameters.
Stay familiar with department events and seminars.
Share knowledge of weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
Follow applicable safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
