About The Position

The Vitamin Clerk works in Sprouts Farmers Market’s Vitamin Department to support customer satisfaction through prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service. The role includes creating and maintaining department displays, accurately pricing merchandise with stamps, markings, shelf tags, and signs, and using supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer customer questions and provide education within appropriate parameters. The clerk should also stay familiar with department events and seminars, share information about weekly ad items, and help customers locate products throughout the store. This is a fast-paced retail position requiring a positive, customer-focused approach, teamwork, and the ability to perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Team members under 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors or motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Be able to perform repetitive activities; multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday; lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for distances up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring force up to 35 pounds, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles in an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly, knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
Create and maintain department displays.
Price merchandise accurately by stamping, marking, or placing shelf tags and signs.
Use supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters.
Stay familiar with department events and seminars.
Share information about weekly ad items and direct customers to products throughout the store.
Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
