About The Position

The Vitamin Clerk works in Sprouts Farmers Market’s Vitamin Department, helping customers discover supplements and vitamins and make informed, healthy choices. The role focuses on providing prompt, friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment. The clerk maintains department displays, accurately prices merchandise by stamping or marking items and placing shelf tags and signs, and uses product knowledge to answer customer questions and educate within appropriate parameters. The role also involves staying familiar with department events and seminars, sharing information about weekly ad items, and directing customers to products throughout the store. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Show mutual respect for others and maintain a high ethical standard consistent with Sprouts’ culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills, take direction, and participate in a team environment.
• Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
• Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday, and lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches for up to 3 feet, for 10–50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring force up to 35 pounds, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly, knowledgeable customer service in the Vitamin Department.
• Create and maintain department displays.
• Accurately price merchandise by stamping or marking items and placing shelf tags and signs.
• Use supplement and vitamin knowledge to answer questions and educate customers within appropriate parameters.
• Stay familiar with scheduled and upcoming department events and seminars.
• Share information about weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
• Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
