About The Position
Animal Hospital of Dauphin County is seeking a friendly, dependable, customer-focused full-time Veterinary Receptionist for its Hershey, Pennsylvania area hospital. The AAHA-accredited hospital offers general practice, urgent care, exotic animal care, and specialty services. Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided in veterinary medical knowledge, terminology, hospital procedures, and computer systems; prior veterinary experience is not required. The receptionist welcomes clients and pets, supports front-desk operations, and helps ensure smooth patient visits while providing compassionate service to clients.
Requirements
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help people and their pets.
- Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Dependability, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Comfort using computers and learning new software.
- Availability for rotating shifts and occasional weekends as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience; experience in reception, retail, hospitality, or a similar role is a plus.
- Veterinary experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and their pets with a warm, professional attitude.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist clients with questions.
- Check patients in and out and help maintain an organized front desk.
- Communicate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to support smooth patient visits.
- Assist with medical records, client information, and payment processing.
- Provide appointment instructions and direct medical questions to the appropriate team member.
- Offer compassionate support to clients during routine visits and difficult moments.
