About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota is hiring a part-time Veterinary Receptionist. The receptionist is the first BluePearl associate clients encounter and helps ensure they receive attentive, compassionate care. The role requires calm, professional communication in situations that may be emotional or difficult for clients.

Requirements

• Possess unrestricted, current authorization to work in the United States.
• Not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and professionally when they enter the hospital.
• Maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor and use strong eye contact.
• Listen compassionately and communicate clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and by telephone.
• Assess each arriving client’s needs and the pet’s general condition.
• Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” or standard emergency.
• Respond to non-patient calls and visitors and connect them with the appropriate team member.
• Confirm appointments in advance and provide accurate information about preparing pets for appointments.
• Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
• Coordinate with clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains, ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
