About The Position

Animal Hospital of Dauphin County (AHDC), an AAHA-accredited animal hospital in the Hershey, Pennsylvania area, is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist. The hospital provides general practice, urgent care, exotic animal care, and specialty services. The role is suited to a friendly, dependable, customer-focused person who wants to help clients and their pets. Veterinary experience is not required, and comprehensive on-the-job training is provided in veterinary terminology, hospital procedures, and computer systems.

Requirements

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Comfort using computers and learning new software.
• Availability for rotating shifts and occasional weekends as needed.

• Customer service experience; experience in reception, retail, hospitality, or a similar role is a plus.
• Veterinary experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and their pets with a warm, professional attitude.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist clients with questions.
• Check patients in and out and help maintain an organized front desk.
• Communicate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to support smooth patient visits.
• Assist with medical records, client information, and payment processing.
• Provide appointment instructions and direct medical questions to the appropriate team member.
• Offer compassionate support to clients during routine visits and difficult moments.
