Veterinary Practice Manager
About The Position
Cainhoy Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Practice Manager to provide leadership and structure to a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. The manager will oversee clinic operations, lead personnel management, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to the hospital’s ongoing excellence and the well-being of the animals in its care. The role includes working part time on the floor, both in the back and up front. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The salary is $65,000–$80,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and qualifications, with eligibility for up to a 15% performance-based annual bonus. Cainhoy Veterinary Hospital is a full-service hospital serving dogs and cats in Charleston, South Carolina’s Cainhoy Historic District. Opened in February 2021, the hospital provides preventive care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and senior pet care, with a focus on individualized, compassionate, science-based care. It is recognized for low-stress and cat-friendly care.
Requirements
- Previous management experience in a veterinary setting.
- Experience executing clinical HR functions, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), evaluations, and disciplinary action.
- Ability to quickly learn and use the EzyVet practice management system.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations, with a primary focus on personnel management, including hiring, training, and development.
- Manage clinic operations, including scheduling and inventory management.
- Guide and coach colleagues toward continuous improvement while maintaining a strong commitment to the client experience.
- Balance the needs of the business and staff.
- Work part time on the floor, both in the back and up front.
