About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring veterinarians to provide in-home hospice and peaceful euthanasia care in Austin, Texas, and surrounding metropolitan areas. The privately and family-owned organization emphasizes professional independence, compassionate end-of-life medicine, and support from a team that coordinates appointments, families, and aftercare. Hospice experience is not required; support is provided during the transition into this field. The role is offered in full-time and part-time schedules, including 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day opportunities and self-managed flexible scheduling. Compensation is prorated for agreed-upon schedules: 4-day positions start at $110,000 annually, while 5-day positions have a $135,000 annual base salary. Additional quarterly performance-based bonuses are available. Benefits vary by position and eligibility.

Requirements

DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
Valid driver's license.
Compassionate approach and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.

Hospice experience is not required; support is available for veterinarians transitioning into the field.
