About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring veterinarians to provide in-home hospice and peaceful euthanasia care in Houston, Pasadena, Cloverleaf, Texas, and surrounding communities. The family-owned organization emphasizes professional independence, compassionate end-of-life medicine, meaningful appointments, and work-life balance, without veterinarian non-compete agreements or corporate production pressure. A dedicated support team helps coordinate appointments, families, and aftercare. Hospice experience is not required; support is provided as veterinarians transition into this field. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available on 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedules, including self-managed flexible scheduling. Four-day positions start at $110,000 annually, and five-day positions offer a $135,000 annual base salary, with additional quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities. Two-, three-day, and self-managed flex schedules have prorated compensation based on the agreed schedule. Benefits vary by position and eligibility.

Requirements

DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
Valid driver's license.
Compassion and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.

Nice To Haves

Hospice experience is not required; the employer will support the veterinarian's transition into the field.

Responsibilities
