About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring a veterinarian to provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care in Houston, Pasadena, Cloverleaf, Texas, and surrounding areas. The privately and family-owned organization emphasizes professional independence, meaningful medicine, and a supportive workplace without veterinarian non-compete agreements or corporate production pressure. Veterinarians practice autonomously with support coordinating appointments, families, and aftercare. The role offers full-time and part-time scheduling opportunities across two-, three-, four-, and five-day schedules, including self-managed flexible scheduling. Four-day positions start at $110,000 annually; five-day positions offer a $135,000 annual base salary, with additional quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities. Compensation for two- and three-day and self-managed flex schedules is prorated based on the agreed schedule. Benefits vary by position and eligibility.

Requirements

DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree.
Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
Valid driver's license.
Compassionate approach and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.

Hospice experience is not required; support is provided for veterinarians transitioning into this field.
