About The Position

CityVet is offering a Veterinarian Externship Program for third- and fourth-year DVM students. This program provides hands-on clinical experience in a veterinarian-led practice environment, focusing on mentorship, real-world clinical exposure, and insights into practice models that emphasize autonomy, collaboration, and career growth. The externships are structured yet flexible, taking place in small animal general practice settings, with some locations offering urgent care exposure. Externs will work with experienced veterinary teams, gaining exposure to small animal general practice medicine and surgery, client communication, case management, collaboration with technicians, clinic operations, team leadership, and mentorship from practicing veterinarians. Externships are customizable to align with individual clinical interests and career goals. CityVet is a veterinarian-founded, led, and owned organization that supports veterinarians through clinical autonomy, personalized mentorship, and collaborative practice environments. Each clinic is locally led by a veterinarian and supported by a centralized home office team.
