About The Position

CallRail is seeking a Vertical Marketing Manager to lead its healthcare business. This role is akin to a general manager for healthcare at CallRail, responsible for strategy, performance, and market understanding. The position sits within the marketing team, focusing on product marketing with a healthcare-specific lens, including personas, positioning, and messaging. The manager will collaborate with demand generation, customer marketing, and content teams, as well as counterparts in sales, product, and leadership, acting as a liaison between the market and the company's offerings. Key responsibilities include identifying target subverticals, defining communication strategies, determining product/partnership needs, and allocating budget effectively. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives on ownership, possesses deep market knowledge, and is proactive in developing and executing plans.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree.
  • 4–6 years of experience in a strategic marketing role.
  • Direct experience in healthcare, healthtech, or an adjacent health-related field.
  • Proven track record of owning a strategy end-to-end and being accountable for results.
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort with data, able to derive insights and build cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence and presence to represent points of view to senior leaders and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional partners without formal authority.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment, prioritizing, making tradeoffs, and shifting between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

Nice To Haves

  • B2B SaaS or martech vertical, industry, or product marketing experience.
  • Experience presenting at industry conferences or building a personal presence in a vertical community.
  • Familiarity with healthcare marketing and patient acquisition, HIPAA-conscious marketing practices, or the healthcare technology stack (EHR, practice management, patient engagement, and CRM tools).
  • Experience building or influencing a partner and integration ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an owner for the healthcare business, understanding its performance, risks, and opportunities, and carrying accountability.
  • Represent the healthcare vertical in cross-functional and leadership discussions, providing a clear point of view and advocating for necessary resources.
  • Proactively identify market opportunities, assess their potential, and propose recommendations.
  • Develop deep expertise in the healthcare industry, its buyers, and shaping forces, continuously learning and refining strategies.
  • Own the healthcare strategy and business performance, including go-to-market strategy, subvertical prioritization, positioning, messaging, and hitting acquisition and revenue goals.
  • Manage the healthcare marketing budget and strategic investment decisions.
  • Monitor key business metrics such as customers, new MRR, churn, ARPU, and conversion rates, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
  • Track product adoption and usage in conjunction with revenue metrics to identify retention and expansion opportunities.
  • Report on healthcare performance to leadership (sales, marketing, product usage) with insightful analysis and executive presence.
  • Serve as CallRail's subject matter expert on the healthcare market, including buyers, workflows, regulations, vendor landscape, and business economics.
  • Develop and own healthcare buyer personas, value propositions, positioning, and messaging.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of key healthcare subverticals.
  • Continuously track the competitive landscape, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and strategic responses.
  • Communicate market trends, regulatory shifts, and economic factors impacting the healthcare vertical and their implications for strategy.
  • Validate market requirements through customer interviews, surveys, win/loss analysis, sales insights, and usage data.
  • Act as a central point of contact between sales, product marketing, customer marketing, demand generation, and product development, ensuring alignment and market insight integration.
  • Partner with marketing teams to test and refine positioning and messaging with healthcare audiences.
  • Ensure all team efforts align with solving real customer pain points, strengthening competitive position, resonating with target segments, and driving measurable results.
  • Partner with product managers as the voice of the healthcare customer to influence the roadmap, including integrations.
  • Build business cases for necessary partnerships and integrations, focusing on revenue impact.
  • Recommend packaging and pricing strategies to accelerate acquisition and expansion in healthcare.
  • Enable sales, customer success, and support teams through training and collateral development.
  • Represent CallRail externally through conference engagements, webinars, panels, and podcasts.
  • Build relationships with healthcare thought leaders, influencers, associations, agencies, and partners.
  • Develop differentiating narratives for healthcare buyers, supported by ROI proof points and positioning materials.
  • Leverage AI platforms to streamline operations, solve complex problems, and stay ahead of industry benchmarks.
