About The Position

The Vending Attendant provides vending products and services at a single customer location. This part-time role is based at Canteen in Coppell, Texas, with days and hours that may vary, including weekends. The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Previous merchandising or retail experience is preferred, and training is available.

The attendant receives deliveries of beverages, bakery products, specialty foods, snacks, and sundries; stocks vending machines and coolers; collects unsold or stale merchandise and money; refills bill and coin changers; and records transactions. The role is accountable for cash and product, maintains customer service by checking in with existing customers and resolving complaints, prepares food and pastry orders, and informs customers about new products and services. It also includes routine machine maintenance and sanitation, keeping storeroom and vending areas clean, and setting up promotional displays or distributing sales materials.

• Previous merchandising or retail experience is preferred; training is available.

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries of soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items, and sundries at customer locations.
• Stock vending machines, coolers, shelves, and racks; collect stale, rejected, or unsold merchandise.
• Collect money from machines and refill bill and coin changers.
• Record transactions using the appropriate card or electronic device.
• Maintain accountability for cash and product.
• Contact existing customers to determine whether service is adequate.
• Prepare order forms for food and pastry products.
• Inform regular customers about new products or services.
• Listen to and resolve service complaints.
• Perform routine maintenance and sanitation of machines and keep the storeroom and vending area clean.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or provide promotional materials to customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
