Seasonal Valet Attendant - Capital Hotel, Little Rock, AR
About The Position
The Seasonal Valet Attendant at Capital Hotel accommodates guests by opening doors, assisting with luggage and other heavy items, and helping guests enter and leave the parking area. The attendant parks guest vehicles safely in designated areas, follows traffic laws, handles vehicle keys accurately, and maintains vehicle maintenance records. The role also supports hotel arrival and luggage services by keeping the lobby, front door, bell stand, luggage room, bell closet, and carts clean and orderly; tagging and storing luggage correctly; delivering luggage and laundry promptly; and ensuring deliveries reach the correct rooms. The attendant maintains knowledge of hotel amenities, layout, local attractions, transportation, in-house groups, functions, and emergency procedures. They read the log book daily, report tips, complete shift checklists, and demonstrate a readiness to help guests. The wage range is $12.25–$13.50 per hour, plus tips.
Responsibilities
- Open doors and assist guests with luggage and other heavy items.
- Direct traffic in the parking area and assist guests entering and leaving it.
- Collect and accurately label guest keys to ensure their proper return.
- Park guest vehicles in designated areas while following traffic laws.
- Operate vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the lobby, front door, bell stand, and luggage room.
- Market the entire hotel when rooming a guest.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities and layout, local attractions, and airport transportation.
- Read the log book daily.
- Stay up to date on in-house groups and functions.
- Issue luggage tags, store bags properly, and cross-reference tags when issuing luggage.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
- Ensure deliveries and luggage are brought to the correct rooms.
- Demonstrate readiness to help guests.
- Handle guest luggage and needs promptly during peak periods.
- Help maintain the bell closet and carts.
- Work systematically to avoid losing luggage.
- Operate bell carts carefully to prevent property damage or injury.
- Deliver guest valet laundry promptly.
- Provide accurate directions and information about the immediate and metro areas.
- Report tips daily.
- Demonstrate a positive, company-driven attitude.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Complete all checklists and responsibilities by the end of the shift.
