About The Position

The Utility Worker / Janitor helps keep the community and surrounding areas clean, orderly, and well maintained. Duties include cleaning interior spaces and furnishings, maintaining outside grounds and parking areas, handling trash and soiled linen, replenishing bathroom supplies, delivering messages, transporting small tools or equipment between departments, and assisting housekeeping staff with heavy cleaning or moving items. The role also includes shampooing carpets and scrubbing floors using a rotary machine or extractor.

• Experience with a floor machine is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Maintain outside grounds and parking areas, including picking up litter and keeping walkways and driveways free of debris.
• Deliver messages.
• Transport small equipment or tools between departments.
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy cleaning or moving items.
• Pick up soiled linen and trash from housekeepers' carts.
• Tow rolling trash bins to be emptied and compacted.
• Shampoo carpets and scrub floors using a rotary machine or extractor.
