About The Position

G&C Food Distributors is a redistributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food, serving customers across 27 states and 35 countries. The Utility Export is responsible for preparing, distributing, and maintaining export duties and ensuring commodities meet destination-country standards. The role also performs warehouse order selection, palletizing, staging, and loading using an electric pallet jack and/or forklift and G&C order selection scanner technology. The position is located in Alachua, Florida, and follows a Monday-through-Friday day schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The advertised pay is $20–$24 per hour. The job involves working in warehouse environments with fluctuating temperatures, including dry, cooler, and freezer areas.

Requirements

At least 1 year of order selection and warehouse experience in the food service distribution industry or a related industry.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Self-motivation.
Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

2–3 years of order selection and warehouse experience in the food service distribution industry or a related industry.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing shipments, documentation, and records according to USDA international regulations.
Collect product data required for country-specific requirements in various regions.
Hand-select customer orders in dry, cooler, and freezer warehouse environments.
Apply labels specific to the destination region, including Spanish interpretation labels and USDA labels.
Coordinate required inspections with the USDA inspector.
Maintain product integrity throughout the process and stack products on pallets or in containers according to proper selection procedures.
Stage and load containers at the proper dock locations and ensure loads are secure for travel.
Operate an electric pallet jack and/or forklift and use G&C order selection scanner technology to select products, build customer orders, and deliver products safely and efficiently to the dock.
