About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Barrington is looking for an experienced Used Car Sales Manager to lead the growth, performance, and day-to-day success of our pre-owned vehicle department. The ideal candidate is a results-driven automotive retail leader with strong experience in import, luxury, or highline brands; a proven record of building successful sales teams; and the ability to achieve monthly sales, gross, inventory, and customer satisfaction goals.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of successful experience as a Used Car Manager at a high-volume franchise dealership.
• Mercedes-Benz, luxury, import, or highline automotive experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with dealership inventory and appraisal tools, including vAuto or similar dealer solutions.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proven record of achieving sales goals and maintaining positive CSI scores.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must be willing to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of pre-owned inventory, including pricing, merchandising, aging, turn, and profitability.
• Lead, coach, and support the pre-owned sales team, including assisting with customer turnover opportunities when needed.
• Accurately appraise trade-ins and coordinate reconditioning to help maximize vehicle value and speed to market.
• Oversee inventory control, lot presentation, digital advertising, vehicle readiness, and delivery processes in a professional and cost-effective manner.
• Administer daily department operations and coordinate activities for pre-owned sales team members.
• Partner with dealership leadership to meet monthly sales volume, gross profit, customer experience, and operational goals.
