About The Position

Norm Reeves Honda Vista is seeking an experienced Used Car Manager to build and lead a profitable pre-owned vehicle operation. This hands-on role is responsible for acquisition, appraisal, inventory strategy, reconditioning, sales performance, and customer experience. The manager will use market trends and data to balance sales volume, profitability, and inventory performance while working closely with Sales and Finance leadership and coaching the sales team.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Used Car Manager or Pre-Owned Sales Manager at a franchised automotive dealership.
Strong knowledge of vehicle appraisals, acquisitions, wholesale, and inventory management.
Experience with inventory and pricing tools such as vAuto, Kelley Blue Book, and auction platforms.
Solid understanding of used vehicle market trends, inventory turn, and gross profit management.
Strong leadership skills and a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
Confidence making decisions, solving problems, and holding yourself and others accountable.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Lead the pre-owned operation, driving sales volume, profitability, and inventory performance.
Source and acquire quality pre-owned vehicles through trade-ins, auctions, and other channels.
Accurately appraise trade-ins and make competitive, data-driven purchasing decisions.
Monitor inventory aging, pricing, and market trends to maximize inventory turn and minimize losses.
Oversee reconditioning so vehicles are ready for the frontline quickly and efficiently.
Partner with Sales and Finance leadership to maximize opportunities and gross profit.
Coach and develop the sales team on pre-owned inventory, product knowledge, and deal structure.
Participate actively in daily operations, including working deals and addressing inventory challenges.
Maintain high standards for vehicle quality, merchandising, and customer satisfaction.
