About The Position

The Used Car Manager oversees all aspects of the dealership’s used vehicle operations. This includes acquiring quality pre-owned vehicles, managing inventory, setting competitive prices, marketing inventory, and working with the sales and service departments to maximize profitability and support efficient reconditioning. The role is full-time and requires weekend availability.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Authorization to work in the USA.
Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, an MVR check, and a drug test.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of experience as a Used Car Manager at an automotive dealership.
Experience in automotive management, specifically used car operations.
Knowledge of vehicle acquisition, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with sales and service departments.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the dealership’s used car inventory to ensure optimal stock levels.
Develop and implement competitive used vehicle pricing strategies based on market analysis.
Acquire pre-owned vehicles through auctions, trade-ins, and other sources.
Work with the service department to recondition used vehicles and prepare them for sale.
Monitor and adjust inventory pricing to remain competitive while meeting profit targets.
Develop marketing strategies to promote used vehicle inventory across various channels.
Collaborate with the sales team to share current inventory information and promote aged units.
Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to align inventory with customer demand.
Conduct appraisals of trade-ins and pre-owned vehicles to determine accurate and fair pricing.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and dealership standards for used vehicle operations.
