About The Position

Pines of Sarasota is seeking a Unit Manager who reports to the Director of Nursing. The Unit Manager coordinates the provision of care and services, provides clinical oversight, and manages staff performance in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. The role requires collaborative work within the scope of its duties and responsibilities. The position supports nursing interventions and care planning, monitors clinical standards and infection control, contributes to quality improvement and staff development, and helps ensure a safe, home-like environment for residents. The role also involves communication with residents’ families and supporting staff counseling or discipline when needed.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, College, or University.
Current, unencumbered Florida license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Understand residents’ social, psychological, physical, and leisure needs, as well as governmental regulations for long-term care facilities.

Nice To Haves

Nursing management experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical support and oversight for nursing interventions.
Assist the Director of Nursing in setting organizational goals.
Collaborate with the Clinical Case Manager and Care Planning Team to ensure timely and accurate care planning.
Ensure nursing notes reflect resident care and address concerns with the team.
Conduct rounds to monitor nursing standards and identify areas for improvement.
Evaluate and enhance staff skills through education.
Track short-stay residents and discharge planning.
Monitor infection control and participate in regulatory processes.
Participate in quality improvement and staff development.
Act as a liaison with residents’ families.
Assist with staff counseling or discipline as needed.
Promote a safe and home-like environment for residents.
